Sinn Féin has always been clear: the EU Migration Pact is not in Ireland’s interest. It is the Irish people who are best placed to make our decisions, not Europe. Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael are wrong to hand over sovereignty on this issue. Sinn Féin will be calling for a special debate in the Dáil this week. TDs will have an opportunity to vote in support of the debate taking place. We need an international protection system that is fair, managed and properly enforced - one that the people can have confidence in.

At a time when people are being crushed by the cost of living, and after a budget that left ordinary workers behind, this government wants Ireland and the EU to commit billions to Ukraine to weapons of war. That money would be far better invested in public services and improving people’s lives - not in escalating war or undermining Irish neutrality.

€9 million for mobile phone pouches? 🤯 Another shocking waste of taxpayers money by Fine Gael/Fianna Fáil - when children with mental health issues are stuck on waiting lists, and schools can’t afford heating or to keep the lights on. This waste must be stopped and the money redirected to where it’s truly needed. It's time for change! #budget2025

People can’t wait any longer. We need real action from government to support workers, families, local businesses and those who keep Ireland moving every day. Rising fuel prices are putting huge pressure on people. Government needs to listen. Cut taxes on home heating oil, go further on petrol and diesel, and deliver real cost of living support. This can and should be done without further delay. I will keep fighting your corner until you and your family get what you deserve.

Fianna Fáil misled the public on the €9m scheme for mobile phone pouches! Two years ago, Minister Norma Foley met with a Yondr executive - the company supplying the pouches - and was even given a pouch by them. Yet, she told the Dáil she had never met them. She must come back into the Dáil and set the record straight. Fianna Fáil claimed it was a once-off cost. Now we know it will cost at least €2 million a year to replace 100,000 pouches. The Fianna Fáil leader refused to answer my questions today. Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael’s wasting of public money must end! It’s time for change.

€127,000 for another bike shed under this government, while ordinary workers and families are told to tighten their belts and wait until next year’s budget for support. The priorities of Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael are laid bare once again. This cannot continue. Taxpayers’ money should be invested in the things that matter. People deserve a government that puts them first.

Every day this government delays, families fall further behind. Costs keep rising - and still people are being told to wait for another meeting next Tuesday.
