This is an actual call our communications team received. While we can laugh at the absurdity of it, the reality is that tying up 9-1-1 for a bad hotel experience puts actual lives at risk. If you are ever unsure if your situation is an emergency, but it is NOT life-or-death or a crime in progress, please use our non-emergency line: 905-453-3311 Let's keep 9-1-1 open for those who truly need it.

A well-deserved honour for a true trailblazer. Retired Sergeant Lonny Blackett's legacy extends far beyond his 33 years of service. As Peel Regional Police's first Black officer, he broke barriers and helped shape the future of policing in our community. Congratulations on this lasting tribute and the announcement of a street naming in your honour.
