This is an actual call our communications team received. While we can laugh at the absurdity of it, the reality is that tying up 9-1-1 for a bad hotel experience puts actual lives at risk. If you are ever unsure if your situation is an emergency, but it is NOT life-or-death or a crime in progress, please use our non-emergency line: 905-453-3311 Let's keep 9-1-1 open for those who truly need it.

On Dec. 3, 2025, four masked individuals wearing all-black clothing and carrying hammers were seen entering Erin Mills Town Centre. Mall security and an on-site paid-duty police officer spotted the suspects and pursued them. Security apprehended one of the suspects, while the other three escaped in a stolen Honda CR-V. No injuries were reported, and no property was stolen from the mall. Great collaborative work between Security and Police. Don’t worry. We caught them! Stay Tuned for Part 2

Fraud can only fly so far. Through Project Icarus, Peel Regional Police investigated the use of fraudulent pilot licensing documents, enabling the suspect to complete more than 900 commercial flights and earn over $2.9 million while undermining trust in critical safety systems. As a result of the investigation, Peel Regional Police’s Fraud Bureau has laid charges including fraud over $5,000, two counts of uttering forged documents, and three counts of possession of a counterfeit mark. We will hold offenders accountable and protect the systems created to keep people safe.
