How she’s curious at first and then she becomes shy and timid because as much as she is aware of her own body and desires, she still doesn’t understand the male side of things. So she’s going to be a bit reserved yet still curious. We also see this when she’s touching him. She closed her eyes and was getting more confident is exploring him and then when he said Not there she retreats back into her timidity. She thought she did something wrong but it’s COLIN’S reaction that gets me in this scene. He reassures her that she didn’t do anything wrong. And then he asks for permission to touch her. THIS IS WHAT SETS THEM APART. He gave her permission and encouragement to touch him and then he asked for hers. He could’ve just assumed it was ok because he’d done it before and she seemed willing but he wanted to make sure. He wanted to ask for permission before he went further. THIS MAN IS SUCH A GREEN FLAG!!! Their communication and reassuring each other is what makes them the best in my opinion. The fact that he makes sure she’s ok and she reassures him that she fine and enjoying herself. And he gives her the ability to be curious and explore this new world of intimacy she’s stepped into and not only explore it but to do so freely and without judgement. And that is what makes this so perfect. So beautiful and raw and meaningful. This is showcasing healthy intimacy behaviors as well as healthy communication skills both verbal and nonverbal.
