Lucky and Rhea on the hunt for treats! 😋 Black and rufous elephant shrews have an amazing sense of smell! As their main form of enrichment, their Animal Care Specialists will hide food throughout their habitat and have the shrews forage for it.

Cat parents know this face all too well 😂 This is called the flehmen response, and Yuki the snow leopard is demonstrating it perfectly. This behavior allows cats to analyze smells in their environment through a scent organ in the roof of their mouths!

Snow leopard Maya says: 🐾 🐾 🐾! Her keepers say this is her playful way to say hello. 😊 Snow leopards have extra-large front paws that are about two to three times wider than an average hand. These giant paws help keep them from sinking into the snow!

Come on in, the water's fine 🐀🏊 Rats like Spencer usually get a bad rap due to many myths about them. Rats are amazing creatures who are highly intelligent, social, and extremely clean since they groom themselves often. Domestic rats can also make great pets!
