An explosive eruption occurred at the summit vent of Kanlaon Volcano at 3:03 PM today, 9 December 2024. The eruption produced a voluminous plume that rapidly rose to 3,000 meters above the vent and drifted west-southwest. Pyroclastic density currents or PDCs descended the slopes on the general southeastern edifice based on IP and thermal camera monitors. KANLAON VOLCANO IS NOW ON ALERT LEVEL 3. #KanlaonVolcano Link to Alert Level Raising Bulletin:

LOOK: A minor phreatomagmatic eruption from Taal Volcano Island's Main Crater at 05:58 AM today (03 December 2024) which generated a 2800-meter grayish plume before drifting west-southwest, as captured by the IP camera of the Buco Observation Station (VTBC). Alert Level 1 prevails over Taal Volcano. #TaalVolcano

LOOK: A moderately explosive eruption at the summit crater of Kanlaon Volcano occurred at 07:04 PM today (26 February 2026) and lasted two (2 minutes) based on the seismic and infrasound records. This event generated a plume that rose 2,500 meters above the crater before drifting southwest. Incandescent ballistics were observed to have rained around the crater while pyroclastic density currents or PDCs descended the eastern and southeastern upper slopes within 2 kilometers of the summit crater. The event was immediately followed by continuous ash emission that persists until posting time. DOST-PHIVOLCS will be assessing the monitoring parameters within the next 24 hours for possible changes in the current Alert Level status of the volcano. #KanlaonVolcano

LOOK: Camera footages captured between 6:36 PM and 7:00 PM today of (left) crater glow or "banaag" at the summit of Mayon Volcano as superheated volcanic gas from new magma lights up the atmosphere above the crater, and (right) incandescent lava dome at the crater with newly-laid incandescent material from rockfall and short pyroclastic density currents (PDCs) or "uson" on the Bonga Gully shed from the dome. Alert Level 3 prevails over Mayon and entry into the 6-km Permanent Danger Zone must be prohibited. #MayonVolcano

LOOK: Minor phreatic eruption from Taal Volcano Island's Main Crater at 09:18PM to 09:22PM today, 29 May 2025, as captured by the thermal camera of the Buco Observation Station (VTBC) and IP camera of the Lower Calauit Observation Station (VTLC). The event produced a 1500-meter-high eruption plume that drifted northeast. Alert Level 1 prevails over Taal Volcano. #TaalVolcano

ATM: Ongoing grassfire happening at the southwest portion of Taal Volcano Island, directly affecting the Binintiang Munti (VTBM) Observation Station. The station's IP camera, as well as the IP camera at VTAG in Agoncillo, Batangas, recorded the fire's initial spread at 11:24 AM. VTBM has been affected by similar grassfires before, such as on 03 March 2023 and 02 May 2024, that were started by kindling. PHIVOLCS is closely monitoring the situation and is coordinating with the DRRMCs of Batangas Province. Alert level 1 prevails over Taal Volcano. #TaalVolcano

LOOK: A minor phreatomagmatic eruption from Taal Volcano Island's Main Crater at 07:34 PM today (6 January 2025), which generated a 600-meter plume, was captured by the IP camera of the Lower Calauit Observation Station (VTLC). This was accompanied by a volcanic tremor that lasted for 3 minutes. Alert Level 1 prevails over Taal Volcano. #TaalVolcano

LOOK: Time-lapse footage of gray ash being entrained or brought out by continuous degassing from the Kanlaon Volcano summit crater. The "ashing" events were observed between 07:20 AM and 07:39 AM today and lasted nineteen minutes, no detectable seismic or infrasound signals were recorded. The events generated light-gray plumes that rose 800 meters above the crater before drifting northwest-west. Recorded by the Canlaon City Observation station IP Camera.
