Knife-Wielding Woman Fatally Shot by NYPD After Stabbing Two People in Times Square NEW YORK, New York — August 31, 2026 — A woman armed with two knives stabbed two people in Times Square Monday afternoon, killing one, before New York City police officers fatally shot her after she advanced toward them, authorities said. The incident began at about 4:24 p.m. near West 41st Street and Seventh Avenue. NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch identified the woman as Pamela Cisneros, 49, of Queens. Police said she approached a 68-year-old man near the subway and stabbed him in the abdomen. She then moved north and stabbed a 32-year-old woman in the abdomen. The female victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital and later died. The male victim remained hospitalized in stable condition. Cisneros then continued toward an NYPD substation while carrying the knives. Officers spoke with her for about four minutes and repeatedly ordered her to drop the weapons, according to Tisch. Police said Cisneros refused and threatened officers. Multiple officers deployed Tasers, but they did not stop her. Two officers then fired their service weapons after Cisneros advanced toward them while holding the knives. Cisneros was struck and transported to Bellevue Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Authorities said Cisneros had a documented history of mental-health-related incidents involving the NYPD in 2018 and 2019. #police #cops #crime #policia #polizei #crimeNews

Heintz, of Peters Township, had recently graduated from high school and was preparing to begin her freshman year at PennWest California, where she was a member of the women's soccer team. Her family became concerned after she left home the night of Aug. 19 and did not return to campus. An Apple AirTag helped investigators locate her Jeep shortly after midnight. California Borough officers found blood on the vehicle and discovered Heintz's body inside. A preliminary examination identified stab wounds, according to testimony later presented in court. The Washington County coroner's office responded to the scene. Pennsylvania State Police charged Royce Joel Moser, 18, of North Strabane Township, with criminal homicide and related offenses, including tampering with evidence, abuse of a corpse, conspiracy and obstruction.
