Owoyesigyire The Territorial Police in Kampala Metropolitan East and Nagalama Division yesterday, 13th November 2025, arraigned Wamala Hakim, a 41-year-old male adult, resident of Kalagi Village, Kyampisi Subcounty in Mukono District, before the Nakifuma Chief Magistrate’s Court on charges of Incitement to Violence and Misuse of Social Media. The charges stem from a TikTok video the suspect allegedly recorded and shared on 9th November 2025 through his account @hakiqualitypropertyandconstruction, in which he is seen uttering statements intended to incite members of the public to engage in acts of violence using dangerous weapons such as pangas and spears. He was also charged with Misuse of Social Media for allegedly spreading false and malicious information claiming that Presidential candidate, Robert Kyagulanyi, alias Bobi Wine, was in danger , an act that was likely to incite fear and provoke unlawful actions among members of the public. The accused appeared before the Nakifuma Chief Magistrate’s Court where he was formally charged . He has been remanded pending further mention of his case. We wish to remind members of the public that the misuse of social media platforms to spread falsehoods or incite violence is a criminal offence under Ugandan law. The Uganda Police Force continues to monitor online activities and will take firm action against individuals who misuse digital spaces to threaten public peace and safety.

. kasirye Twaha "Following an incident that occurred on 28/12/2025 at around 1530 hours at Kanoni Village, Nakagongo Parish, Matete Sub-county, Sembabule District, where a group of young men was seen attacking a rival political camp, Police opened two counter case files of assault, and investigations commenced immediately. Four (04) injured victims, namely Kwesiga Livingston, Kiyimba Ronald, Seguya Aloysius, and Tumuhimbtse Jackson, were taken to Sembabule Health Centre IV for treatment. All victims were examined on Police Form 3 (PF 3). The classification of injuries was “Harm” for Kiyimba Ronald and Kwesiga Livingston, while Seguya Aloysius and Tumuhimbtse Jackson sustained “Dangerous Harm.” Two suspects were initially arrested and interviewed, and their statements were recorded. The case files were subsequently submitted to the Regional State Attorney (RSA) for perusal and legal guidance on the assembled evidence. Following legal advice, two suspects, Asimwe Deo and Ayijuka Edger, were charged, while other suspects remained at large. The two accused persons were produced before the Sembabule Chief Magistrate’s Court and remanded until 22/01/2026. Further intelligence-led operations were conducted by Police on 30/12/2025, during which ten (10) additional suspects were arrested. The additional arrested suspects include: Kiberu David, aged 46 years, resident of Matete West, Matete Sub-county, alleged ringleader who commanded the attack, Nsamba Martin, aged 28 years, resident of Bukula Village, Kayunga Parish, Matete Sub-county, Ntengo Shadok, aged 22 years, resident of Bugongo Village, Kayunga Parish, Matete Sub-county Ssenyange Joseph, aged 20 years, resident of Manyama Village, Kayunga Parish, Matete Sub-county, Sempijja Herbert, aged 19 years, resident of Kimuli Road, Matete West, Matete Town Council, Kamoga Ronald, aged 40 years, resident of Matete North, Matete Town Council, Bwanika Bonny, aged 30 years, peasant, resident of Bugongo Village, Kayunga Parish, Matete Sub-county Kabito Geoffrey Robert, aged 17 years, student, resident of Bugongo Village, Kayunga Parish, Matete Sub-county, Mwanje Stephen, aged 23 years, resident of Bugongo Village, Kayunga Parish, Matete Sub-county, Ssenkusu Robert, aged 28 years, resident of Lugazi, Busoka Parish, Mijwala Sub-county. All suspects are residents of Sembabule District. The suspects were on 07/01/2026 arraigned before the Sembabule Chief Magistrate’s Court and remanded until 22/01/2026. We strongly caution members of the public against engaging in attacks on rival political camps. Every citizen has the constitutional right to support a political party or candidate of their choice without intimidation or violence.
