R.I.P. Army Staff Sgt. Benjamin N. Pennington The family of a U.S. service member who died in combat during the conflict in Iran was seen gathering in Fort Knox, Kentucky, on Friday as his body was brought to Godman Airfield for a dignified transfer. Army Staff Sgt. Benjamin N. Pennington, 26, was from Glendale. He was the seventh U.S. service member to die in the conflict, succumbing to his injuries a week after being wounded during a March 1 attack on the Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia, according to the Pentagon. R.I.P. Officer Lauren Craven E.O.W 10-20-2025 La Mesa Police Department "Officer Craven, 25, died on Monday, Oct. 20 while assisting at the scene of a multi-vehicle crash. Officer Craven rushed to help a 19-year-old driver who was involved in that initial crash, when an alleged drunk driver slammed into them. Both Craven and the 19-year-old, identified as DeVeonte Lavell, were killed."
