Lebanon’s Youth: We Have to Coexist… But How? We asked students from several universities across Lebanon about peaceful coexistence in the country. Some acknowledged that it may be difficult, but stressed that it is far from impossible. Others said that those who are able to foster coexistence within their own families and homes can also help build it on a national scale. For some, coexistence simply means sharing the same space while respecting one another’s freedom, dignity, and opinions. Sheikh Threatens LAU A video circulating shows a sheikh during Friday prayers threatening Jbeil's Lebanese American University, after it allegedly prevented a number of students from praying on campus. He described the university administration as “agents” and continued: “Don’t say the sheikh has nothing to do with it. If the university doesn’t resolve the issue, we will resort to another solution.”

Mitri: Hezbollah Is Lebanese Lebanese Deputy Prime Minister Tarek Mitri said that Hezbollan is supported by a large segment of the Lebanese population and is therefore a Lebanese party. Rubio: We Discussed Restarting Direct U.S.-Lebanon Flights with Aoun U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the talks focused on attracting more U.S. and international investment to Lebanon, as well as the possibility of restarting direct flights between the United States and Lebanon. “We’re going to start a process with them and see if that’s possible and when that can be done,” Rubio said. Direct flights by U.S. airlines to Lebanon have been suspended since 1985, when the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) banned such flights and prohibited U.S. aircraft from landing at Beirut International Airport due to the deteriorating security situation at the time, particularly following the hijacking of a Trans World Airlines (TWA) flight.
