TRIPLE SHOOTING NEAR FARRAGUT SQUARE — TWO NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERS SHOT WASHINGTON, D.C. — MPD and multiple federal agencies are on the scene of a triple shooting near Farragut Square, in the area of 17th & I Street NW, where three individuals were shot, including two National Guard members. The incident unfolded in one of downtown D.C.’s busiest corridors, prompting a large emergency response. The two National Guard members were struck by gunfire while operating in the area. All three victims were transported to nearby hospitals. Their conditions have not yet been released. A wide perimeter has been established around Farragut Square as investigators analyze surveillance video and canvass for witnesses. No confirmed suspect information has been released at this time.
