2028 RHP/3B Landon Echelberry Landon Echelberry (Clay Baseball) FB: 89-93.7 CB: 75-78 SL: 78-81 CH: 83-85 The 6-2, 214-pound right-hander battled through 4 innings against a strong Anthony Wayne lineup, 1 through 9. Echelberry threw 56/82 pitches for strikes. 4 innings, 7 H, 2 ER, 5 K, 0 BB. The fastball was electric out of the hand, topping at 93.7. Echelberry complimented the fastball with a curveball with depth, a slider with tight spin, and a changeup that showed some arm-side run. #8 (D2) AWHS Baseball and Northern Lakes League rival #7 (D2) Clay Baseball had a wild back-and-forth contest where the Generals of AW came away a 10-7 victor over the Eagles, thanks to a 6-run bottom of the 6th. Facing one of the top arms in the state, AW Athletics busted out 12 hits (7 off of Ech) with 4 players recording multiple hits. '26 OF Eli Donawa went 2-3 with 2 RBI and a run scored. '26 1B Sean Kolling went 2-4 with an RBI. '27 3B Drew Bellian went 3-4 with a 2B, RBI and 2 runs scored. '26 DH Logan Barnswell 2-3 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored. Clay was paced by '28 LHP/OF Bryce Besgrove and '27 MIF Brayden Toneff. Bryce went 2-5 with 2 2B, an RBI and run scored, while Brayden went 2-4 with an RBI and 2 runs scored. What. A. Shocker‼️ The #1 team in the state Defiance Baseball (21-2) falls to Tiffin Columbian Baseball (10-14) by a final score of 6-0. Isaiah Tilse was absolutely dominant on the bump, going the distance in the shutout, striking out 6 while not allowing a walk. Offensively the Tornadoes were paced by the top three in the lineup, who combined for 8 hits and a walk in 11 ABs. Jaxson Little, Jayce Arias and Tilse led the offensive attack. Defiance bows out of the tourney much earlier than they’d hoped, but an outstanding season nonetheless, with the 21-2 record and one more league game to go. #4 (D3) Defiance Baseball defeats #12 (D3) Jason Brandt 4-2 to stay unbeaten in WBL action. 2027 RHP Ike Webb got the start for the Bulldogs, striking out 9 in a complete game effort. Big game at the plate and defensively for the talented 2028 catcher Colt Ward. The LHH went 2-for-2 with a walk and a run scored. The battery of Webb & Ward worked well together, keeping the Wapak hitters off balance all night with just 4 total hits. 2026 RHP Drew Bailey kept Wapak in the game throughout, going 6 innings, allowing just 3 earned runs. Bailey also produced at the plate with an RBI single for the first run of the game. 2026 C Griffin Mericle also provided an RBI single for Wapakoneta. #15 (D6) PH Baseball went on the road to face one of the hottest teams in the state, unbeaten #6 (D5) Archbold Baseball ⚡️⚾️ and came away with a big 4-1 victory to open its NWOAL play. The Patriots got a huge performance on the bump from Ohio State Baseball commit Mack Hieber. The 6-6, 220-pound righty went the distance, allowing 6 hits, 1 R (in the 7th on a weird defensive play), 2 BB, while striking out 11. Offensively Patrick Henry Athletics was paced by 2026 SS Mason Jardine, who went 1-3 with a 2B, a walk and 2 runs scored along with 2027 1B Grady Mckee, who was 2-4 with a run scored. 2026 CF Cal Schroeder added an RBI single in the 6th. Archbold's trio of arms kept them in the contest throughout, as the uncommitted 2026 RHP Jace Castillo pitched 2.2 innings, striking out 4. 2028 RHPs Ethan Bowman and Wyatt Cline relieved the senior. 2025 RHP/SS Grant Jolly Jason Brandt (Marshall Baseball) FB: 87-90, T91.7 SL: 76-79 CH: 81-83 The 6-0, 180-pound two-way didn’t allow an earned run in the complete game performance.
