After the last Seido vs. Ichidai match in the spring, Eijun's ace-like performance reminds Miyuki that this is his last summer with the team and inspires him to become a better player. It's incredible to see that reflected in all aspects of his play, including his catching.

Miyuki’s home life was first revealed through the anime, not the manga or TJ’s Twitter, and I wonder if that initial portrayal of him cooking dinner alone came off as more intense than TJ intended, since every other depiction of his past shows him and his dad eating together.

At the start of the series, Seido’s original third years—especially Tetsu—feel incredibly reliable. Whenever the Lupin III theme plays, it feels like things will work out for Seido somehow. Bringing it back for Miyuki shows he and his generation has become just as reassuring.

Ever since Nabe told Miyuki that Eijun has been trying to understand a catcher’s mindset to earn his acknowledgment, Miyuki has been bursting with pride watching him take charge of his own growth. He can't help but praise Eijun to Kataoka for developing a pitch all on his own.
