Everyone talking about heavy rain & waterlogging across Gurgaon. Some have even started comparing parts of the city to Venice. Yet in the same city I drove through Cyber City and Golf Course Road during this morning's rain and found main roads largely free of waterlogging. If effective planning and drainage mechanisms can work well in one part of Gurgaon why can't the same approach be replicated across the rest of the city? I Know new drainage projects are underway and infrastructure work is in progress. However Gurgaon’s waterlogging problem is not new. it has persisted for well over a decade. At some point long term solutions need to translate into visible results on the ground. Comparing Gurgaon to cities like New York or Dubai whenever they experience flooding isn't a convincing argument. Those cities also have many world class urban systems that we aspire to emulate. Sharing few video clips from this morning, when light spell of rain in Cyber City and along Golf Course Road.
