Pune: Violent Road Rage Erupts on FC Road as Youth Attacks Auto-Rickshaw Passenger With Huge Stone A shocking incident of road rage was reported from the busy Fergusson College Road (FC Road) in Pune, raising concerns over law and order in one of the city's most crowded areas. According to preliminary information, the incident began after an auto-rickshaw allegedly had a minor collision or brush with a young man on the road. What started as a seemingly small argument soon escalated into a violent confrontation. The youth, reportedly enraged during the argument, was seen with his shirt torn and carrying a large concrete stone on his shoulder. Even after the auto-rickshaw moved ahead, he allegedly chased it through heavy traffic. The situation took a dangerous turn when the youth stopped the rickshaw, entered it and allegedly assaulted the person inside with kicks, punches and the large stone. The incident unfolded in full public view, with several citizens, students and women present on FC Road. The violent confrontation also disrupted traffic, resulting in long queues and congestion along the busy stretch. Women police personnel later arrived at the spot and were seen intervening to bring the situation under control. The incident took place on the Marunji Link Road between Marunji and Wipro Circle. According to information received, an argument broke out between a motorcyclist and the driver of a white Swift Dzire while they were travelling on the road. The dispute quickly escalated into a high-speed chase. Near Wipro Circle, the car allegedly rammed into the motorcycle, causing the rider to crash into a parked car. The biker suffered a serious head injury in the collision. After hitting the motorcycle, the car driver fled the spot at high speed towards the Capgemini office. Initial reports suggest that both parties may have been at fault. A video of the incident has surfaced on social media, and people are demanding a thorough and speedy investigation into the case.

Pune: Kalepadal Police Book 15 Individuals And Garage Operators For Modified ‘Pataka’ Silencers, Seize 11 Motorcycles After Midnight Biker Menace Kalepadal Police have registered a criminal case against 18 individuals, including 15 motorcycle riders and three garage operators, for allegedly creating panic by riding motorcycles fitted with illegal modified "Pataka" silencers that produced deafening firecracker-like sounds in Mohammadwadi and surrounding areas. Police have seized 11 motorcycles and destroyed the illegal modified silencers. The action follows multiple complaints from residents after a group of bikers allegedly rode recklessly between 11 pm on July 31 and 5 am on August 1 across Kad Nagar Chowk, Nyati Chowk, Raheja Vista Chowk, Undri, and Mohammadwadi, revving modified silencers that emitted explosive sounds. Videos of the riders were widely circulated on social media, prompting public outrage. According to police, several residents contacted the Kalepadal Police Station, stating that the loud noises created an atmosphere of fear during the night, with elderly citizens and children being startled awake. Acting on the complaints, a special police team gathered technical evidence and intelligence to identify the bikers. Based on the investigation, police traced the suspects and registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Motor Vehicles Act, the Central Motor Vehicles Rules for reckless driving, creating public nuisance, and using illegal vehicle modifications. Police seized 11 motorcycles, most of them Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycles fitted with modified exhaust systems designed to produce loud firecracker-like sounds. The illegal silencers were removed and destroyed. The investigation also revealed that three garage operators had allegedly installed the modified silencers on the motorcycles. Pimpri RTO Acts Against Vehicle Owner After Viral Mumbai-Pune Expressway Video, Imposes Rs 4500 Fine Pune, September 9: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Regional Transport Office (RTO) has taken action against the owner of a vehicle after a video showing the vehicle on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway went viral on social media. Following the circulation of the video, RTO officials visited the vehicle owner's permanent address and conducted an inspection of the vehicle. According to the RTO, the vehicle bearing registration number had a clearly visible rear registration number at the toll plaza. However, while the vehicle was being driven on the expressway, a device installed on the vehicle was allegedly being used to deliberately conceal the rear registration number, apparently to avoid detection through the e-challan system. The RTO initiated proceedings against the vehicle under Sections 41, 52, 177, 182A and 179 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. A total fine of ₹4,500 was recovered from the vehicle owner. The device used to conceal the registration number was also removed from the vehicle in the presence of officials from Flying Squad No. 5 of the Pimpri-Chinchwad RTO. The action was carried out by Motor Vehicle Inspector Vishal Thorat and Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspector Srinivas Shinde. The RTO said the action followed the viral social media video and the subsequent inspection of the vehicle.
