Actress Janine Gutierrez weighed in on the growing trend of social media personalities landing acting roles, saying visibility may open doors, but it’s still talent and discipline that sustain a career. Speaking candidly about how difficult it is to break into the industry, Gutierrez acknowledged that aspiring actors today are finding new ways to get noticed, particularly through platforms like TikTok and YouTube. “It’s so hard to penetrate the industry, even get a guesting role, if you don’t know anyone,” she said in an exclusive radar Entertainment interview. “So, I’m amazed at the kids, or in any way that you can audition, like whether it’s getting yourself out there on TikTok or on YouTube, laban lang. Because of course, it’s really hard.” For Gutierrez, using social media as a springboard is not something to dismiss. In fact, she sees it as a form of self-advocacy in an increasingly competitive field. “So, however you can advocate for yourself, I think, props to you,” she added. However, the actress was quick to draw the line between gaining attention online and delivering as a performer once given the opportunity. “But of course, when you get to the set, or when you get an opportunity, you really need to work hard and do your best. And you can’t just rely on your followers,” she said. Gutierrez emphasized that while follower count may help aspiring actors get noticed, it does not replace the fundamentals of the craft. “Because at the end of the day, if you want to be an artist, the basis for us is if we can deliver on the scene,” she explained. “So, always work hard, listen to your directors, and be professional. I think at the end of the day, that’s really what will get you to where you want to go.” Her remarks come amid ongoing conversations in the entertainment industry about influencer-driven casting, where social media reach is increasingly considered alongside acting ability. “The Loyalty Game” is currently airing exclusively on Prime Video. New episodes drop weekly on Thursdays. The psychological thriller starring Gutierrez, Jericho Rosales, and Sofia Andres made its debut on July 3. (✍️, 🎥: Marinel Cruz) #radarPH #radarPHEntertainment

A resurfaced clip from the September 26, 2005 episode of “Extra Challenge” has reignited online calls for the return of the iconic Philippine reality competition show. The viral video features actresses Maui Taylor and Joyce Jimenez in a tense on-screen confrontation that unfolded after rule-breaking controversies emerged on the challengers’ first night. The clip of their argument quickly went viral, prompting a wave of reactions on social media. “Gusto ko ’yung chill lang si Maui, tapos gigil na gigil na si Joyce,” one user commented on a reel posted on GMA Network’s Facebook account. “’Pag ako nakaaway ng englisera, mananahimik na lang talaga ako para ’di na humaba ang usapan,” another quipped. “Baka prank lang ’yan. ’Di ako nakanood n’yan na scene eh,” a third commenter said, suggesting the clip may have been unaired footage. Many netizens expressed nostalgia for the show’s unscripted drama and high-stakes format, noting that programs like “Extra Challenge” are rarely seen on television today. Others directly called for a revival, saying the viral clip proves the show still has strong recall among Filipino audiences. Originally launched by GMA Network in 1999 as the lifestyle and news magazine show “Extra, Extra,” the program evolved into its extreme reality competition format in 2003. It became one of the network’s pioneering reality programs before ending its broadcast run in 2013. Known for its physically demanding challenges, dramatic contestant interactions, and memorable hosting lineup led by Paolo Bediones, Miriam Quiambao, and Ethel Booba—and, in its later years, Richard Gutierrez and Marian Rivera—“Extra Challenge” remains one of the most recognizable titles in Philippine reality television history. SB19 QUIRKY TRAITS UNCOVERED Think you know everything about SB19? A reel by AIA Philippines, which counts SB19 among its ambassadors, recently shared a fun "Who's Who?" challenge that revealed which members are most likely to have certain habits both on and off camera. Need someone to keep your finances in check? The group pointed to Josh Cullen as the member most likely to track his expenses. Josh also tied with Pablo for the title of resident life coach, with both members earning recognition for giving the best advice. When it comes to healthy living, Stell took the crown as the member most likely to choose the healthiest meal on the menu. Meanwhile, if there's one member who probably won't be replying to late-night messages, it's Justin, who was voted most likely to sleep early. The group also showed their strong teamwork in two categories. Asked who stays calm under pressure and who saves before spending, the answer was simple: everyone. Justin, however, earned an extra nod for keeping his cool during stressful situations. From smart spending habits to healthy choices and practical life advice, the reel gave fans another reason to say they don't just stan SB19—they know them. But for ATIN, the real question remains: how many of these answers did you get right? (✍️: Denchelle Castro, 📹: AIA Philippines) #radarPHEntertainment #radarPH #SB19
