It's time we advocate for Angelenos after dark. As mayor, I'll create LA's first Office of Nightlife. We'll run buses until after last call. We'll mediate disputes between residents and venues so the cops stay out of it. We'll put naloxone in the hands of venue staff and protect people who call for help. Cities that treat nightlife as infrastructure see the returns: more jobs, safer streets, better quality of life for everyone 🌞 Join us at

Housing is a human right. No one in this city should have to worry about losing their home or end up on the streets due to systemic issues. Homelessness and the housing crisis are not two different problems, they are two sides of the same coin. And they have the same solution – permanent affordable housing. Trickle down economics is a fallacy. The market cannot provide affordable housing. Prices are only going up, driving people into homelessness, or out of the city entirely. Rae will build social housing on public lands and speed up housing production citywide, cutting red tape while keeping in place tenant and homeowner protections to ensure that people are able to keep their homes. Rae will streamline the city’s housing strategy, creating a Mayor’s Office of Housing For All to consolidate these different departments under one roof, with a public dashboard to track progress and hold us accountable. Did you know that the amount of money that the LADoT bus system generates from fare collection is - wait for it - the about the same as it costs to enforce that fare collection. They cancel each other out! At that point, buses may as well be free. 🚏🚌 So that’s exactly what I’m going to do. As mayor, I’ll make LADoT buses free as a part of my plan to improve public transit citywide saving money for both Los Angeles and all the people in it. 🌞

This is the second time Mayor Bass and Councilmember Raman have backed out of a public debate forum in this very important election cycle, days before the confirmed event – a trend that demonstrates their inability to show up for the public unless it's politically advantageous to them. These establishment politicians continue to gatekeep power in their small circle, denying the public the opportunity to hear from candidates critical of their poor leadership and new ideas that call for real systemic change for the working class. Los Angeles is done with corrupt, backroom-dealing government that treats public participation as a box to check rather than the foundation of democracy. The Rae for LA campaign is about centering everyday working Angelenos in City Hall and calling into question "who really keeps us safe?" Rae knows the answer is "not the police, not the Olympics, and certainly not Big Tech investors and developers."

LA is a sanctuary city. We’ve made it clear that we don’t want our resources going to collaborate with a rogue, dangerous agency like ICE. There are too many risks involved in remaining partnered with a company that’s part of such a vast national surveillance network. Angelenos deserve to not feel spied on by the federal government when we go around our city. It’s time to break up with Flock. Join our movement: ⛓️💥🌞

If the Los Angeles Police Protective League (LAPPL) is spending six figures trying to stop this movement, it’s because they know change is possible. Los Angeles deserves leadership that invests in people first — in housing, care, community, and real public safety that doesn’t rely on fear or punishment. This campaign has never been about protecting power. It’s about fighting for the Angelenos who’ve been ignored for far too long. And no amount of attack ads can drown out what we already know: another LA is possible. 🌞

‼️🚨 Announcement: We are so proud to cross-endorse: CA’s 34th district, Angela Gonzales-Torres (Angela Gonzales-Torres) candidate and candidate Rae Huang for Mayor of Los Angeles! This campaign is a movement, not just one race. It’s about building a Los Angeles led by women, by first-generation children of immigrants, and by people who understand our communities because we come from them. 🌞 Angela has been a powerful advocate for housing justice, championing intergenerational, permanently affordable housing that brings communities together and invests in long-term care, learning, and stability for our people. For Rae, housing justice means transforming a system that was never built for us. She’s fought for bold, structural solutions such as expanding permanently affordable and social housing, strengthening tenant protections with real enforcement, and ensuring homes stay in the hands of our communities, not Wall Street investors. Real progress for California means real progressives, specifically, leaders who aren’t backed by corporations or private equity, but by the people. 📢 Together, we’re fighting for the future we deserve! ¡Juntas somos poderosas! 🫂🏡 ❤️🔥

Real safety means accountability, prevention and protection, and we’re ready to address the LAPD’s lack thereof head on. Our neighborhoods are starved for resources while paying for a protection racket for one of the biggest legal gangs in the world. While our streets and sidewalks go unrepaired, our mental health services get scaled back or defunded, and our communities are left to fend for themselves with little trust in the department, the LAPD keeps demanding more and more money every year. Who is the LAPD protecting and serving? The Police Commission is a board made up of mostly civilians. Under the LA City Charter, the commission has the power to move for the Chief’s removal. Here’s the full path: Commission moves to remove ➡️ Council has the option to reverse, or the Mayor does ➡️ if neither acts in time, removal is effective ➡️ Chief can appeal to the Council ➡️ Council votes, and needs 2/3 to overturn ➡️ if it goes back to a fresh Council vote, 2/3 is again required to remove. Beyond this, we will direct the City Attorney to prosecute officers who break the law. We will ensure misconduct liability payouts come out of the LAPD’s own budget, and not the general discretionary fund that is meant to fund our communities. The process exists, what’s missing is the will to use it. I have that will. Let’s reinvest in real safety for the people 🌞❤️🔥

Making Los Angeles more walkable and improving its public transit isn’t just good for commuters; it’s how we make this city more interconnected to feel like a community. I talked with hasanabi on ICE Out day in January about it. Let's improve our livability, together. 📢

We've got a message for City Hall: housing is a human right, not an investment vehicle. 📢 A system that allows landlords to kick tenants out onto the street in the midst of an ongoing pandemic is a broken system. That's why I'm so proud to have worked with Mike Bonin on the LA County eviction moratorium, legislation which kept the most vulnerable Angelenos from suffering homelessness during a time of unprecedented crisis. As your Mayor, I pledge to keep that momentum going. Together, we can build a city where tenants' rights come first. 🌞

I met with many people who have seen the impacts of the ICE raids and the police brutality in our streets firsthand over the last year. What I heard was shocking. A full video will drop soon about my lessons from these conversations, and how I’ll take concrete action as mayor to remedy the harm.

I’m sick of our leadership not being courageous in this moment. Act now.

The media isn’t covering it anymore, but the raids on our neighbors haven’t stopped. Minneapolis, LA and the whole country are still hurting. And now, the feds have dragged us into an illegal war. We said it then, and we’ll say it now: ICE, get out of LA. We keep us safe.

How we treat our voiceless neighbors says everything about who we are. LA’s animal services have been gutted by our current leadership. As mayor, I’ll fund our shelters, protect renters with pets, and keep our wildlife and natural habitats safe too 🌞🐾 Learn more:
