Years back, URC's capacity was very low. At one point, the Corporation was moving zero trains & zero cargo. Currently, we move about 290,000 tonnes Pa. That's something, but it's not our target. We want to push the quantities to btn 840K - 1M tonnes & this we shall. #MoreGains.

Export cargo headed for Malaba, pulled by a 3000hp loco. With an addition of 4 under the African Development Bank Group funded project, transportation of our exports (Cocoa, coffee, etc.) will become more affordable and faster.

UPDATES - KLA NAMANVE WORKS: 2 km of track on the ground. Works are moving on despite the continued interruptions from residents and users of the embankment as a walkway. Line will reach Namboole level crossing tomorrow.

At Malaba, wagons (both with containers and saddles are detached from Loco 9802 to a KRC loco for movement to Mombasa. Wagons for Uganda are then attached to 9802 for a smooth ride to Jinja and Kampala. Location: Tororo
