Good Morning, Comrades. Yesterday, onboard the train were holiday makers of Seroma Christian High School. During such times, the roads are congested because many schools are breaking off for holidays. Having the service helps to remove a sizable number of cars off the roads. How it works: Students board the train from the Mukono ICD and are transported a long the route, with stops at the different halts. For other routes to be added, the boarding points will be communicated. At each stop, the parents are waiting to pick their children. With us, you don’t have to set aside an entire day just to pick your child from school. The end goal is to deploy the service whenever students are heading out for holidays and during school opening days, along all the routes we have, and those to be added.

Jowa me amara me Lango. Tyen Garr dong otyeko tunu oko I Lira City. Next stop is Gulu City. Stations along the route from Tororo to Lira are also scheduled for refurbishment to facilitate both cargo and passengers services. The Gulu station was upgraded during the construction of the Gulu Logosrics Hub. When all this is done, the Gulu- Pakwach section will be restored as well. Phone🎥

Each of these has a capacity of 50,000 ltrs. The current water vessels at full capacity each transport 22 tankers, translating into 1.1 million litres in a single voyage. With the two vessels, that's a total of 2.2 million ltrs. A journey from Kisumu to Port Bell is 18 hours.

Who has the keys to Strait? Comrades, straight out of the Nalukolongo workshop, the Tank Tainers have undergone full refurbishment. Over 100 tanks are scheduled for working. All rehabilitated tankers will be deployed to transport fuel from Kisumu to Porbell.

URC in partnership with Ministry of Works & Transport and Safe Way Right Way Uganda has commenced a safety awareness campaign to educate road users on the best way to operate along Level Crossings and the railway corridor. Speaking journalists, the Benon M. Kajuna Mr. Benon Kajuna noted that, accidents involving trains across the globe are rare, but very destructive when they happen, and advised motorist and other road users to always exercise caution whenever they are driving across railway crossings. He further warned pedestrians who use the railway line as a pathway to desist from this practice because it exposes them to risks. Those who insist on using it should always ensure that they are aware of their surroundings. The same activity attracted leaders of the different transporters, associations in the country. Rail-Road safety cannot be achieved only through the physical installations. Other stakeholders (road users) should be aware of their responsibility, and that is the reason for the sensitisation drive. A few things to note 1. Always keep a distance from the railway lines at crossings by holding up behind the boom barriers. Parking in front of it is a risky undertaking. Parking below it makes its lowering impossible. This applies to both, the manual and automated barriers. 2. When stopped at any crossing, please respect the instruction. It is for your own good. 3. When approaching crossings, reduce speed. This gives you enough time to appreciate your surrounding before proceeding. 4. When a train is approaching any crossing, do not cross. Be patient. It is not as slow as you think.

DIVERSIFYING RAILWAY CARGO We don't move steel coils, wheat, etc (imports) alone . We move agricultural products. This train loaded with Cocoa Beans is destined for Mombasa. By doing this, we feed into Uganda's growth strategy, & support livelihoods of smallholder farmers.

Years back, URC's capacity was very low. At one point, the Corporation was moving zero trains & zero cargo. Currently, we move about 290,000 tonnes Pa. That's something, but it's not our target. We want to push the quantities to btn 840K - 1M tonnes & this we shall. #MoreGains.
