What an excellent way to use AI! We forget that before Henry Ford brought the Model T to market in 1908 well over 500 car companies had sprung up in America alone, making somewhere in the range of 2000 to 3000 distinct models of vehicles. It was the Wild West days of the automotive industry and it was anyone's guess who would come out on top. It's exactly the same today in robotics. Seemingly every day a new robotics company is announced with a promise or with a prototype. The variety is huge and the field is wide open. I believe that the Steel Bot robot has just the right mix of features and performance specifications to be widely useful and to dominate in the market. I'm working with all my being to bring it to fruition.

This is my favorite display at the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation in Dearborn, MI. It shows the typical American kitchen from the late 1700’s, 1840, 1890, and 1930. You can visually appreciate life getting easier and richer with more convenience and more manufactured goods. Cooking in the 1700’s was an all day affair with getting the fire started in the hearth, warming the brick oven, cooking a stew or braise over the fire, baking bread, and using ingredients that are either fresh or else dried, salted, or stored in the root cellar. Cooking in the 1930’s meant opening your fridge and pulling out all manner of fresh or frozen ingredients from the market plus the milk delivered that morning, lighting the gas stove and oven, cooking in ceramic and factory cast iron cookware, and having everything ready in an hour or less with far more nutritious and delicious food to choose from. And of course everything has gotten far better and cheaper and more available since then. Now we can use our sous vide or air fryer or induction range top to cook ingredients sourced from all over planet earth. We live as kings compared with every generation that has come before us.
