Behind the technology we use every day lies a painful reality. More than 50,000 Congolese children are forced to work in cobalt mines, risking their lives in dangerous conditions to extract the minerals that power our smartphones, laptops, and electric vehicles. In places like Kamfundwa, men, women and children toil without proper safety equipment, clean water, healthcare, or fair wages. While the world benefits from Congo's vast natural wealth, millions of Congolese continue to pay the price with their health, dignity, and future. Today, as we cheer for Congo on the football field, let us not forget the struggles of its people off the field.
