Never Let me Go this song has a special place in my <3 at the end is a phone call between me and my grandparents that i forgot was recorded. i originally called bc i needed help with a line for a song but they ended up doing their usual thing of asking if i’m happy, if i’m making money & telling me not to worry about calling them all the time. they are really the sweetest slice of life to me and have shown me the purest forms of love. had to put them on waxxxx <3

Babygirl this song holds so much of what the album means for me, it’s the THUMPING heart of it. It’s about trusting yourself enough to follow your own instincts and finding value in the parts of u that don’t always fit neatly. Swamp Princess🐊 felt so obvious for this song because i’ve always admired how she’s leaned into exactly who she is and the world met her there. her grammy speech made me SNOT SOB 😭 love u forever doe🩷 to the girls who hear a different song in their head!! <333

This video was sooo special to make❣️ We filmed at my grandma’s in Chicago with my family to capture moments of self discovery like making dances in the basement & burning CDs off her computer. The album is about returning to self & this felt like the perfect start to the era😭💌
