There's something deeply loyal about sticking with those old robes that have been through it all with you. They're not just fabric; they're history, comfort, and quiet faithfulness. The beauty of a robe loved enough to become perfectly tattered. 😊❤️🙏✨

Still sitting with yesterday’s post… it hit deeper than I expected. When I picture the angry driver, the cold coworker, the friend who ghosts — I see the scared 5-year-old they used to be, still waiting for someone to keep them safe. Suddenly everything clicks. The armor, the snapping, the silence… it’s not personal. It’s just an old hurt wearing an adult mask. We’re all still those little kids, doing our best with whatever we were given. And every single one of us still deserves to be loved exactly as we are — scars, mess, and all. Grateful for every wound that cracked me open and every kindness that reminded me who I was before I learned to shrink. ❤️ Still walking each other home. 🏡 BTW when I say I stopped hiding. I literally lived my life as a character I created and the real me has been buried since I was 16. This is the real me. If you know me as “Dee” then as I’ve said before, she was a character I created and a mask I hid behind. I was a character actor and sensual athlete. I got lost in the story. 📖 The truth is stranger than fiction.

I adore spring and slipping into sundresses. I enjoy getting dressed up for a fun photo shoot. It feels like life is shifting, and I’m finding my true purpose. Embracing and cherishing every part of myself. #selflove #natural #thick #curvy #selfcare #sundressseason #healingjourney #selfcare #50andfabulous #authenticity

**Embrace the Sun and Move Your Body: A Journey to Healing** In our fast-paced, digitally-driven lives, it's easy to forget the primal connection we have with nature and our own bodies. Here's why combining the power of the sun with somatic dance therapy, especially to the vibrant rhythm of Afro beats, could be your next step towards emotional and physical well-being: **1. *Sun Exposure - The Natural Healer*:** - **Vitamin D Boost**: Sunlight is your body's primary source of Vitamin D, essential for bone health, immune function, and mood regulation. Soaking up some sun can help combat depression and boost overall happiness. - **Circadian Rhythm Alignment**: Exposure to natural light helps regulate your sleep-wake cycle, improving sleep quality and mental clarity. - **Endorphin Release**: The sun triggers the release of endorphins, the body's natural painkillers, promoting a sense of well-being. **2. *Somatic Dance Therapy - Healing Through Movement*:** - **Embodied Awareness**: Somatic dance encourages you to tune into your body's sensations, helping to release stored tension and trauma. Movement becomes a form of expression, allowing you to process emotions without words. - **Stress Reduction**: Physical activity reduces cortisol levels, the body's stress hormone. Dancing, especially to rhythmic and spirited music like Afro beats, can be exceptionally cathartic. **Combining the Two:** Imagine stepping into a sunny spot, feeling the warmth on your skin as you start moving to the infectious beats of Afro music. This isn't just exercise; it's therapy: - **Enhanced Mood**: The combination of natural light and the joy of dance can significantly uplift your mood, reducing symptoms of anxiety and depression. - **Physical Health**: Both activities promote physical health, from improved cardiovascular function to enhanced muscle coordination and flexibility. - **Trauma Release**: Somatic practices, under the sun, can facilitate the release of deeply held trauma through the physical and emotional freedom of dance. **How to Start:** - **Find Your Space**: A backyard, a park, or even a sunny window in your home can be your stage. - **Choose Your Beats**: Dive into Afro beats playlists that resonate with you. - **Move Intuitively**: Let your body lead. There's no right or wrong in somatic dance; it's about feeling and moving with authenticity. So, next time the sun is shining, put on some Afro beats, step outside, and let your body dance away the shadows of stress and trauma. Embrace the healing power of nature and movement, and watch as your mind and body thank you for this integrative approach to well-being. #suntherapy #somaticdancetherapy #afrobeats #mentalhealthawareness #physicalhealth #traumarelease
