An elected Board of Education member keeps getting shut down the moment he tries to put inappropriate library books on the public record. They cut him off. They kill the discussion. They even shut the camera so it doesn’t stay on the record. The Board President appears to be running cover for the superintendent instead of running an open meeting. That’s completely backwards. The board is supposed to oversee the superintendent, not take orders from him. Parents have a right to know what’s in the school libraries. Elected board members have a right to raise those issues in public. Silencing them and erasing the record isn’t “decorum.” It’s control. Local media refuses to cover these kinds of continued issues. Linda McMahon Harmeet Dhillon, this is the kind of local suppression of transparency and parental rights your offices have prioritized.
