The point here is not the promo. It's more about listening to how he talks about the title. Since he lost it, his business partners are breathing down his neck because there's no market for ex-champions. He's built a lifestyle that requires the title to sustain.

Bob Backlund's willingness to fight like this is not what he's known for, but maybe it should be. Listen to this crowd!

Great sequence off of a piledriver attempt here from Bob Orton and Paul Orndorff.

I love the rhythm of this. Notice that every single strike is sold, they keep it moving, and at no point does either guy gesture for the other to him him again and stay open for it.

This match rocks. I've never seen anyone bleed for one of Baba's strikes, and then watch what Killer Karl Kox has to do to restore feeling in his head.

I saw this angle at the time. I did not remember it being this violent. Check out the incredible Jannetty bump into the post and Shawn's bloody face.

Some of the oldest pro wrestling footage on tape, billed as a "Fat and Lean Wrestling Match". Less than 3 minutes and worth watching in full. A reminder that the funny and absurd has always been part of pro wrestling.

I have to post Ronnie P. Gossett as the Joker again. Wonderfully psychotic. From Memphis in September 1989.

Jerry Lawler doesn't understand why the people of Memphis are starting to turn on him. He asks Misty, a fan in the studio, and she gives him a piece of her mind.

Rusher Kimura vs Ray Candy is basically them hitting each other like this for 15 minutes, with Candy mixing in some shockingly big bumps and taking a hell of a beating. Just insanely brutal.
