I have such a huge problem with what is happening here that I don't even know where to begin. This isn't education. Schools may not promote or oppose any political party, and teachers and principals may not influence learners’ political alignment. This is political mobilisation and indoctrination at a very young age. Having them chant a party slogan uses them as political instruments, which is unconstitutional at this age. Ironically, these protections exist because of South Africa’s past, where schools were once used as political tools under apartheid.
