Every now and then I catch a surprise rainbow trout cruising in bass territory. I always throw a cast or two into this "hole" when walking by. It is only 2' deep at best and maybe 6' wide. A small pocket along the edge of a wide, shallow section of the creek. Caught on the deadly yellow popper. #fishing #flyfishing #trout #bass

I snapped another fly rod so I decided to bust out my old Fenwick fiberglass that my grandfather got me for my 1st birthday. The rod that started it all. I was rewarded with a YUGE smallmouth bass. #fishing #flyfishing #FishResult

To me, this is the ultimate fly fishing experience. A difficult upstream cast, under the tree branch mid-stream, then between two more tree branches hanging in the water, to a beautiful brown trout sipping flies off the surface. The dry fly had to be gently dropped right in front of the trout's nose without spooking it, followed by an immediate hookset. No other angle or approach is possible. Pinpoint accuracy is a must. I'll take one opportunity like this over a 50 fish outing with nymphs any day! #fishing #flyfishing #fish

My fly was an exact match for the tan caddis on the water but the trout ignored it on every drift. Was it the slow clear water? Bad drift? Wrong fly? No, it was lack of movement. A quick twitch of the fly just before the strike zone was all it took. Fish on! #flyfishing #fishing
