Two years ago, MeekMill stood beside Governor Josh Shapiro as Act 44 was signed into law. The passage of that bill represented a major milestone for REFORM Alliance and the culmination of five years of tireless effort. Today, the results are undeniable: Act 44 is working. Act 44 creates a fairer and more effective probation system, helping Pennsylvanians by: - Replacing one-size-fits-none probation conditions with an individualized approach that prioritizes rehabilitation and public safety - Limiting when someone can be sent to prison for a technical violation, and for how long - Streamlining the early termination process and creating evidence-based guardrails on the length of probation sentences - Incentivizing positive behaviors, personal growth, and rehabilitation through a credits system that accelerates opportunities for early termination Pennsylvanians across the Commonwealth are benefiting from Act 44 and we’re so proud of the time and effort invested by our team and local partners to make Act 44 a reality.
