I just left the floor of the House, where Republicans gaveled us out of a pro forma session—shutting the House down for the day. At midnight, the government shuts down. Why? Because Donald Trump and his party refuse to negotiate a deal to fix the health care cuts they created—cuts that will leave millions of Americans without health care. Don’t let them spin it otherwise.

Delawareans are already feeling the effects of Trumpcare. Dave wrote to my office to share that without an extension of the ACA tax credits, his wife—who suffers from multiple ailments—and he will see their premium jump to $1,200 a month and will lose their coverage. Trumpcare is dangerous. It is deadly. And even when people do everything right, Republicans in Congress continue to fail them.
