I literally wrote a book on cancel culture, so I’ve had some time to think about it. Cancel culture is when someone is unfairly destroyed for holding a mainstream opinion or making an honest mistake. It also means literal deplatforming or firing. It's mob rule dressed up as morality. But that’s not what this is. When someone like Tucker Carlson chooses to platform Nick Fuentes—a self-proclaimed neo-Nazi who’s said “Hitler was really f**king cool” and openly admits he’s in politics to “hate women and be racist”—that’s not a mistake. That’s a very deliberate choice. Ben Shapiro put it perfectly: Tucker Carlson is a launderer of disgusting ideologies. He takes reprehensible views and tries to make them palatable to the mainstream. For years, he has lied about me. Repeatedly. Why? For attention. Provocation creates attention and makes Tucker more money. I’m glad others are finally waking up to who he really is. Tucker Carlson has every right to host whoever he wants. Nick Fuentes is free to say whatever his racist, hollow heart desires. And the rest of us, people with a conscience, are free to say: this is wrong and I want no part of it. That’s not “cancelling,” that’s freedom of association (get it now, Kevin Roberts?) If we can’t draw the line at neo-Nazi, racist incels… where do we draw it?

My contacts in the Mexican Navy sent this to me. It’s an excellent example of whats really happening on the ground (or the sea) in the deadly counter-cartel fight. With our assistance, Mexico’s Navy seized a narco semi-submersible more than 250 nautical miles off the Pacific coast- loaded with 179 packages of suspected cocaine, totaling several tons. This is the third so-called “low profile vessel” the Mexican Navy has recently captured. They’re purpose-built smuggling platforms designed to evade radar and move massive quantities of drugs north. The operation involved an offshore patrol vessel, fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters, and interceptor boats- with intelligence coordination alongside U.S. Northern Command and Joint Interagency Task Force South. Three crew members detained. Cargo confiscated. Another hit to the cartel logistics and financing network. Interdiction is important, but it’s one piece of the puzzle. We have to go to war with the cartels on all fronts, and knock on the doors of their mega mansions with a bunch of guys with guns and bad attitudes. Recently the Mexican Senate approved the deployment of a SEAL platoon to train with Mexican Special Forces. Things are moving in the right direction.

This may come as a surprise to you (it was for me when I found out), but we can’t legally use FISA authorities to “wiretap” the Mexican drug cartel affiliates or the Chinese companies that make precursors for fentanyl. We are missing an enormous amount of information about supply chains, money laundering, trafficking, and production - all because the law isn’t updated to deal with this new fentanyl problem. So today I offered an amendment to change that. It was very simple, only one sentence. It would simply allow us to apply for warrants to wiretap these cartel organizations operating overseas. It was NOT attached to any other legislation or “poison pills” that would give anyone a reasonable excuse to vote against it. No brainer right? Luckily it passed. It will likely become law. It will help stop these thugs and save American lives. Who would be against that? Well, it turns out about 83 Republicans and 69 Democrats are against collecting intelligence on cartels or their Chinese partners. Ironically, many of these members talk a really tough talk about cartels. They talk about “fighting them.” How do you fight an enemy you can’t even collect intelligence on? But when given a simple choice, they chose NOT to take the first step necessary to actually be “tough” against murderous cartels and their buddies in China. The reasons I got? It “expanded” surveillance. No, it updates the list of FOREIGN targets in FOREIGN lands that we can apply for a warrant to target. Am I surprised? Pissed? Maybe. Definitely disappointed. I’m tired of seeing people up here say one thing and do another. It’s exhausting. They might be against the FISA program (that’s a whole other debate), but against collecting intelligence on cartels? Seriously? They had the chance to vote against the FISA bill (which they did) but still support the amendment to target cartels if they had wanted to. They were separate votes. The amendments always come first. Sorry, but you need to hear this. You need to know the truth about what goes on up here. You need to know that those 83 Republicans aligned with the far-left progressives to try and take down this amendment. I count many of them as friends and partners, even if we don’t always agree. So I was astonished by this result. But it passed. Thank God. I can go home and tell the parents of fentanyl victims that we are fighting for them, and actually taking action. But if you hear the Nay votes talking tough about the cartels, make them explain why they voted to protect El Chapo, Chinese companies making precursors, or money launderers in Mexico. Ask them why they don’t want us to spy on them *even with a warrant.* (yes! This amendment actually just allows us to APPLY for a warrant!!!) I was tempted to list their names here. I won’t. I’m not trying to get you to swarm their offices. But I’m not going to sugarcoat the truth either. You can look up vote records easily by googling “house roll call votes Bill Number: H. A major blow was just dealt to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG). This wasn’t just some crude hole in the ground made by amateurs. It was a sophisticated tunnel system they were counting on to smuggle billions of dollars worth of drugs and weapons. Smuggling tunnels have been a challenge along the border for decades. Cartels have gotten better at making them, but we’re getting better at hunting them down thanks to enhanced intelligence capabilities and stronger cooperation with Mexico.

Senate Democrats think you’re too dumb to read a vote count. They’ve shut down the government, voted repeatedly against reopening it, and somehow still have the nerve to blame Republicans. Keep the pressure on. They obviously don’t feel shame, but they absolutely feel backlash. So give it to them.

Democrats say they want to fix the root causes of migration. So why are they mad that we’re finally doing it by removing a dictator who has caused so many to flee? The reality is, they were never after real solutions. We are. That is why conservative leadership is exposing their hypocrisy and delivering real results.
