ICE detained a U.S. citizen in Northern Virginia with guns drawn. He offered to show ID and told the officers he was an American citizen, but they handcuffed him anyway. The man is a Trump voter, but says he is reconsidering his support after he was targeted for being Hispanic:

We've heard concerning things about the Social Security Administration lately, so I decided to check for myself. SSA says Wednesday is the best day to call, so I called then. Their system told me there would be a two-hour wait time, told me to call back, and then just hung up.

When Donald Trump and Elon Musk dismantled USAID last year, thousands of civil servants were recklessly fired. This was devastating for them, and the millions of people they assisted globally. USAID is American leadership at its best, and our world is worse off without them.

The January 6 pardons are among the worst things Trump has ever done. He put violent, dangerous felons into our communities. They are emboldened by Trump's “get-out-of-jail-free” cards. Who knows what other crimes they will commit? Unfortunately, we’re all about to find out.

Trump’s proposed 250 ft. vanity arch is illegal, wildly narcissistic, and would only make traffic gridlock worse. Even National Park Service acknowledges the project would disrupt Arlington National Cemetery. This monstrosity must be stopped and I’m fighting to make sure it is.

One of the opening acts of Trump's war of choice was the massacre of schoolkids in Iran. Those kids would be alive today if Congress had done our job and restrained the president's lust for power. Sadly, House Republicans again blocked a bill to end the war. A contemptible failure of moral leadership.

This evening President Trump will address a coequal branch of government for which he has shown total contempt and disregard. Meanwhile my constituents are seeing their livelihoods destroyed, often illegally. What he is doing is not normal, it is not acceptable, and I won't be attending.

Republicans' so-called "SAVE America Act" would require every American citizen show a 1) Passport or 2) Government ID AND a birth certificate to vote. Millions of Americans don't have a passport or ready access to their birth certificate. This is a voter suppression bill. Plain and simple. I will be voting NO.

Arlington National Cemetery is sacred ground, the resting place for our heroes. Desecrating this hallowed space to build a monument to Trump’s ego is wrong, it would waste taxpayer money, and break the law. I'm introducing a bill with Dina Titus and others to stop this:
