When I introduced the HOME Act, I said homes are for people, not corporations. Now, key parts of that work are moving forward in the bipartisan 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act. This legislation cracks down on Wall Street landlords, gives renters a way to report problems, reinvests penalties back into affordable housing, and holds bad actors accountable. This will be a major step forward for Nevada families.

Republicans slipped a last-minute provision into their so-called “Big Beautiful Bill” that would force people to pay taxes on money they never actually earned by limiting the deduction for gambling losses. That’s unfair — and it’s bad for Nevada. Our gaming and tourism economy depends on a tax code that reflects real winnings, not phantom income. That’s why I am proud to introduce the bipartisan FULL HOUSE Act to restore the full deduction for wagering losses and fix this costly mistake.
