😮Watch to the end! Absolutely WILD watching the radical left defend wealthy trial lawyers over kids and parents today. They literally presented the same amendment several times, written by the trial attorneys and then were upset getting called on it. One glance at their campaign contributions and you understand why. Last cycle, trial lawyers dumped $223 million in Democrat campaigns! 😱 So we have to ask, are they protecting kids? Or their trial attorney donors?

Congress will find money for just about anything. You'd think somewhere in that mountain of spending, $750 to background check the staff working in the People's House would make the cut. Nope. It's stunning this hasn’t been fixed already. If you're going to work in the People's House, you should have to undergo a background check first. That's not controversial. It's common sense. Close the loophole. Require background checks. Pass H.Res. 500.

You need a background check to work almost anywhere in America. But not Congress. That’s insane. I introduced H.Res. 500 to change it. If you work in the People’s House, a background check should be the bare minimum. Call your representative. Tell them: cosponsor H.Res. 500. No more double standards.

A few months ago, Volunteers of America called our office. Veterans at the Ritz Veterans Village in Ocala were at risk of losing their housing, and they asked for help. I picked up the phone and called VA Secretary Collins directly. For months, our team worked closely with the VA, VOA, the City of Ocala, and Marion County to put together a new funding package that would keep these veterans housed. I'm proud to report that the funding is secured, and the doors stay open. Starting October 1, the Ritz will operate under a new VA contract that keeps a roof over our veterans' heads.
