There is broad bipartisan agreement that student loan debt is a problem that needs to be addressed, yet Congress has failed to act. That's why I'm filing a discharge petition with Rep. Anna Paulina Luna to bring our bill to the floor. This would cap federal student loan interest at 2% so borrowers can actually get ahead, with no cost to taxpayers. If Members truly believe student loan debt is holding Americans back, then they should sign onto this discharge petition.

In a perfect world, the Jewish American Security Act wouldn’t be necessary. But we don’t live in that world. Jewish kids are being threatened. Synagogues are being bombed. And across the country, Jewish Americans are hiding their Star of David so they don’t get accosted. Unfortunately, this bill is necessary and I urge Congress to pass it as soon as possible.

Today on the House Floor, I took a moment to honor the life of my friend, former Vice Mayor Nancy Metayer. Nancy was taken from us far too soon. As the first Haitian American elected to the Coral Springs Commission, she made history, but that alone does not capture who she was. Nancy was one of the nicest people in the process who advocated for everyone. Nancy had hoped to serve in this body, but she was tragically taken from us one day before she was set to announce her run. It was an honor to talk about her on the House Floor today.
