In the last year, there’s been an alarming increase in Black Americans found dead hanging from trees. We know what that has meant throughout our history. That’s why I’ve joined Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley to demand a federal investigation into possible lynchings.

I will not attend Trump’s State of the Union on Tuesday. We cannot continue with business as usual while our democracy is under attack by a President who thinks he is above the law.

Cleveland did not send me to Congress to be interrupted, talked over, and lied to. Especially not by Trump officials who are punishing people with SNAP cuts and higher food prices every day.

Why am I voting NO to this CR bill? Because ultimately it’s 99 pages of Project 2025.

We are not about to let this out-of-control administration ruin our Black joy. Especially not during Juneteenth! Happy Juneteenth y’all!

Trump is shutting down SNAP. It's wrong. It's illegal. Let's break it down.

Bottom line, this administration would rather waste your hard-earned tax dollars on shrines to Trump than do anything to lower costs for working families.

As I gather support for my resolution to recognize June as Black Music Month, I'm asking my colleagues about their favorite Black Musician and what Black music means to them. It's safe to say Queen Bey's inspirational anthems are a House favorite!

Somebody in the White House must think it's a brilliant strategy to shutdown SNAP and withhold emergency funds. I call it what it is: cruel, callous, careless, immoral and illegal.

I am DISGUSTED by Trump’s attack on the Obamas and Black Americans, but am I surprised? Of course not. But I refuse to let him ruin Black History Month. Let's set the record straight.

Haitians in Ohio are being shackled and surveilled by Trump's DHS. But it's still not getting the attention it deserves, here's what you need to know.

I have a message for Rep. James Comer: Stop with the racist comments about “my people” and keep my name out of your mouth. Republicans are letting the truth slip out about what they really want - to take health care away from millions.

Trump has failed Black Americans and working people of all backgrounds. Unemployment is up, health care coverage is down, and families are struggling to pay their bills. It's time for Congress to stand up to Trump, we can't stand by while millions of Americans suffer.

We have a President who is corrupt, criminal, and craven to the core. Trump’s illegal and immoral immigration agenda has caused violence, suffering, and tragedy. We must stand united against this - history is watching.

I just spoke about Springfield, our Haitian neighbors, and the hate and racism motivating Trump’s mass deportation plans. Minutes later, a judge blocked the White House plan to end TPS status for thousands of Haitians in Ohio. Tonight, we celebrate and vow to keep fighting.
