The “SAVE America Act” is built on a long-debunked lie about the 2020 election. You’d have to ignore years of audits, court rulings, and investigations to pretend this is about “security.” It is also already illegal for non-citizens to vote. That’s not up for debate. This bill manufactures a crisis that doesn’t exist so Donald Trump and his allies can grab more control over our elections. They’re selling fear and hoping people won’t look too closely. They know they can’t win on the merits, so they’re trying to change the rules instead. Don’t fall for it. I voted NO.

Deploying masked ICE agents is not only a public safety risk, but a complete sacrifice of public trust. If someone resists arrest because they think an ICE agent is fraud, they will be prosecuted. The lack of transparency and humanity from this administration is not only destroying the people’s faith in government—but disrupting innocent lives. I will continue to use my voice and my vote against the inhumane conduct at DHS.

St. Louis has everything it needs to thrive. We’re at the center of the country, we have the most northern port that doesn’t freeze, our healthcare systems touch lives across the nation… the list goes on. There’s no reason we can’t be great. But greatness doesn’t come without honest conversations—even when they’re tough, even when people disagree. That’s why I will always show up, listen, and fight for this region. No matter how difficult the conversation, I’ll keep standing up for St. Louis and the future we deserve.

$24,000 a month. That’s what Joaquin Castro’s cancer treatment would cost without insurance. Most families in St. Louis couldn’t afford that—and too many would die because of it. This bill is a perfect example of republican morals: If you’re rich, you matter. If you’re not, you don’t. That’s the cruelty we’re voting against. #VoteHellNo

My grandpa’s grandpa was a slave. That wasn’t all that long ago. Now, somehow, diversity programs are the scapegoat for every problem in the economy? This is propaganda. These attacks don’t fix anything. They just keep Black and Brown folks stuck in the same cycle of exclusion and harm.
