I have real conversations about mining and metals (the most expensive hobby that isn't all that fun to begin with).

"Money is made on the delta between price and value," Rick Rule told me at the PDAC earlier this month. "Everybody pays attention to the stock quote, but most don't do the work to ascertain value," Rick Rule added. Too many nuggets in this one to quote in here. Watch it.

Michael Gentile told me he looks at hundreds of companies each year, and he says "yes" to less than 1% of them. So, I asked him what the 99% looks like. His answer is in the clip below. The full interview is on YT and wherever you get your podcasts.

Uranium didn't perform as well as many interviewees in 2024 expected. What went wrong, and is the bull market over? "Nothing went wrong", Rick Rule told me. "The people around the story have invested in a 5-year narrative, and they have a 3-month strategy", he added.

What Could Break Mining Stocks in 2026? The wrong team? The wrong geology? The wrong jurisdiction? Their stock prices being too high? I asked some folks at the VRIC 2026 edition, which apparently was the busiest it's ever been. Full thing on YT now.

If something is obviously low-risk, high-margin, and scalable, the majors, sharp mid-tiers, locals, and funds usually sniff it out early. So, being first is rarely proof you’re brilliant. It’s proof you’re early to something, and you need to know what. Sometimes the reason is harmless. It could've been the wrong cycle, wrong commodity, old data misread, or nobody drilled it properly, jurisdiction is only opening up now, etc, etc. Other times it’s lethal. It's often metallurgy, permitting, infrastructure, land title, water, community pushback, geometry that looks great on a slide and awful in a pit shell, etc etc. The only acceptable answer is specifics. Who looked? Did they drill? What did they drill? What did they find? Why did they walk away? What has changed since? Sun Peak Metals $PEAK.V recently picked up copper-polymet projects in Saudi Arabia, so I had to ask:
