BREAKING: Robinhood buildt an AMEX Platinum killer. not even trying to be subtle. it's called "Robinhood Platinum". See what you get at bottom of post...it's a long list! Robinhood is moving upmarket and going straight after the customers the incumbents care most about. My main reflection is twofold - solid value prop from Robinhood - man, tough to be AMEX AMEX is facing competition on business side from Brex and Ramp and as far as I can tell losing. Their consumer business has been stronger, but now they have to contend w/ Robinhood. ---the things you get--- Cash Back - 5% on dining - 5% on flights - 10% on hotels & cars - 1% on all other purchases Dining - $250 annual DoorDash discount - $250 annual credit at 15,000+ eligible restaurants - Complimentary DashPass membership Travel - $300 annual travel credit - $500 annual hotel credit - Global Entry or TSA PreCheck credit - Unlimited access to 1,800+ Priority Pass airport lounges worldwide - No foreign transaction fees - Daily breakfast for two, room upgrades, and perks when booking through the app Health & Wellness - Complimentary Oura membership - Complimentary Function Health membership (160+ lab tests) - Amazon One Medical membership (a $199 value) - $200 annual credit toward wearables Lifestyle - $250 annual credit on autonomous rides Family - Add family members at no additional cost - Share perks, track spending, and set limits per card

Layer from Plaid (announced today) is pretty awesome! provides nearly "Instant onboarding" for users already connect to plaid's network (1/3 of all consumers). keys off of your phone number and pre-populates your KYC info. Similar to how Shopify Pay works for checkout but for onboarding for a new financial account. Plaid claims increases end-to-end sign up rates by 10 - 25%, which is a huge lift for their customers. Anyone here using it yet?
