Khairul Faiz used to work on offshore platforms installing oil and gas pipelines. When the global oil price crashed in 2016, the industry collapsed around him and he had to find another way. He spent two days learning the craft from GPC, a goreng pisang company, started from scratch, and never looked back. Today his business, Goreng Pisang Dengkil, has three branches and a lesson worth remembering: the first two years are the hardest, but those who stay consistent are the ones who make it.

Tomorrow, Sept 16 is Malaysia Day. A day we’re supposed to celebrate together. But in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, my home state a big flood is happening right now. Streets are underwater. Homes are destroyed. Lives are lost. Tomorrow's celebrations are cancelled. This is serious. Sabah needs urgent support and attention from the federal government. I just checked on the major news portals as of 3pm, Sept 15, 2025, it's not yet a major headline. But I think it should be a headline already. News from Sabah and Sarawak are normally slow to be shared. So I'm using my platforms to highlight this disaster. Please help share this to help raise awareness. The Apple Vision Pro is here. Many companies have done this before but adoption was low. A technology is only disruptive if there’s huge adoption by people. And there’s only huge adoption if the marketing is great. Apple made the marketing great and simple for everyone to understand. So let’s see how it goes with this one.
