🚫 The Government today blocked any further consideration of the prohibition of 1st Cousin Marriages Bill 🚫 🚫 They could have let it progress to committee stage when all the details could be thrashed out but they blocked it 🚫 🚫 Labour will block it progressing on the 25th too and whenever I try and bring it back. It’s sad because it was a Labour MP, Ann Cryer, who raised this issue 20 years ago and was shouted down then 🚫 🚫 People will get off on calling me names but I grew up in the Pennine mill towns and I don’t want to see the children of the kids I grew up amongst going through this for another generation 🚫 👍 Thank you to the brave people who’ve reached out to me who are part of the communities where this is prevalent and who hate to see certain elements of the establishment continue to enable terrible practices for - at best - fear of causing offence or thinking it’s better to sweep issues under the carpet - or worse, because when the chips are down they simply don’t care, see it as a way of harvesting votes from gatekeepers, or have some screwed up views regarding cultural relativism 👍

🥀 it’s right The Labour Party have been doing U-turns across the board But they’ve only been doing so under pressure from Conservatives led by Kemi Badenoch without that pressure there would be: - No national grooming gangs inquiry - No winter fuel u-turn for poorer pensioners - No #Mandelson sacking I hope the Government do more u-turns: - on Chagos - on the jobs tax - on family business taxes I could go on!

Today, I raised a Point of Order about the actions of Dr Zubir Ahmed MP who has now TWICE has blocked the release of information to UK Parliament >> >> This information was ONLY released under Freedom of Information Act And it is damning >>> And now the Government say they are “launching an investigation” >>> Let’s see what happens… because they updated the guidance they’re ’investigating’ in October!

🚨 Labour's flagship ZEV Mandate is only being kept alive because manufacturers are forced to buy compliance credits from Chinese-owned BYD and Elon Musk's Tesla to avoid whopping great fines. Thanks to Ed Miliband's net zero nonsense, they can't simply get on with building and selling the cars consumers actually want. It's this warped ideology that's led to growth flatlining, the economy on its knees, and Britain's car industry at risk. The Labour Party need to face reality, follow Conservatives lead with our Plan for Drivers and scrap this disastrous policy before they do even more damage. 🚗

At the election, Conservatives said we’d keep the nationwide £2 #BusFareCap until 2029 Sadly, The Labour Party disagreed and increased it 50% from £2 > £3. The exception was in places where the last Government ensured that lower fare were part of separate long-term funding settlements - including in Greater Manchester Now Andy Burnham is telling everyone he wants to go back to Conservatives #GetRoundForTwoPound! The Question is does Heidi Alexander MP agree with the current Prime Minister or the next Prime Minister…
