People can have their takes on Rui, but one thing you gotta do as a Laker is show me. Show me when the lights are bright. Rui did it in his first playoff game as a Laker. 30 points and 6 boards. Dunkin on the DPOY. Clutch 3 after clutch 3. Most efficient shooter in playoff history. He gave me endless migraines, had poor defensive possessions, boxing out and had tunnel vision driving to the rim. But one thing no one can tell me is that he wasn’t a playoff riser. I know what I watched (except G2 vs. Denver 2024. We’ll forget that). He’s a player I’m taking the good with the bad. Thanks for the memories, Big Hachi. Hope you find your way back on the home team one day. 💜💛

When someone asks me what aura is for an entrance, this is one of the first things I point to. Stone Cold at WrestleMania 17. What gives it aura? There’s no special gear, no pyro, no elaborate, choreographed entrance. Just a larger than life star, Disturbed playing in the background, walking down a long aisle as the crowd loses it and cameras flash in the background as he poses on the turnbuckle. Same deal for The Rock. Gravitating presence.

These are one of the few scenes in DBZ where I prefer the OG dub. Not because of the voice acting but because of the dialogue and Goku trash talking. Goku, in no uncertain terms just flat out tells Vegeta he’s stronger than him and no amount of training is going to close the gap and Vegeta is just insecure as all hell. It’s brilliant. Vegeta always referred to Goku as a low class warrior and now that same low class is big leaguing him in front of everyone, even his own son. And he says it so casually because he knows he ain’t gonna step cause he can’t do anything about it. Full circle moment.
