A few days ago, I conducted a 100-piece British orchestra, The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra to perform India’s National Anthem at the legendary Abbey Road Studios, London. This is the largest orchestra ever to record India's National Anthem and it is spectacular! The "Jaya He" at the end gave me goosebumps. Felt great as an Indian composer :-) I am sharing this historic recording with every one of you this Independence Day - use it, share it, watch it, but with respect :-) It is yours now. Jai Hind. I was robbed! Dear zomato zomatocare, looks like one of your drivers entered my home on Thursday and stole our sump-cover. This was at 6 o'clock in the evening.. Quite bold of them! #MYMODISTORY PM Narendra Modi ji has always inspired people to look beyond themselves and work for a larger cause. His conversations often plant seeds of ideas that grow into something impactful and lasting. When I won my first Grammy Award in 2015, one year after he became the Prime Minister, I wished to meet him. Soon after, I received a call from his office and my wish came true. I expected the meeting to last only a few minutes with some photographs. To my surprise, it became an hour-long discussion. During our conversation, we discovered our shared passion for protecting the environment and conserving every species. PM Modi ji spoke about his upcoming visit to COP21, the Paris Climate Change Conference. He shared his thoughts about the issues he would raise there, including the International Solar Alliance. As we exchanged ideas, we thought of creating an album that would present India’s perspective on climate change. The vision was to involve musicians from across the world and make it diverse and inclusive. This inspired me to create Shanti Samsara, an album featuring 500 musicians from 40 countries. Narendra Modi ji encouraged the project and gave it a global stage. He launched the album at COP21 in Paris by gifting it to the then President of France François Hollande and the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon. For me, it was more than music. It was about carrying forward a vision that the Prime Minister had sparked, using art as a voice for the planet. Modi Story
