Following the murder of Janki Dass police are investigating whether the shooters were actually targeting someone else. So far, investigators have found no evidence that Shri Kumar Chemist or its owners had received recent threats from any gang. #UPDATE: Two persons died. They were identified as Tarun Kaushik and Tarun Jain, two of the four partners who had taken the plot on rent just 10 days ago and were getting the building renovated. The victims remained trapped under the debris for over five hours before being pulled out by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF).

Two thieves arrived in an auto-rickshaw and entered a house in Phase-7 Mohali. They went all the way to the hall but found nothing worth stealing inside. Before leaving they dismantled and took away the outdoor unit of the air conditioner. The homeowner noticed the theft and chased them. He managed to note down the auto’s registration number, which eventually led to the thieves being caught. The stolen AC unit had already been sold to a scrap dealer for just 1000 rs.
