Delivered new to the Brunei Royal Family in Titanium Yellow over black, it was later rebuilt by McLaren in Woking in 2007, repainted in Ibis White, and upgraded with the High Downforce Kit and an LM-spec interior. The greatest driver of his era needed a road car to match. Completed in late 1989 in pure early specification, it left the factory without catalytic converters or adjustable suspension and entered private hands. Its first owner kept it only briefly but left one unforgettable mark: a signature on the roof, sealed under clear coat and preserved ever since. From there it moved through a select group of collectors, appeared in Motor Sport magazine’s Ferrari anniversary feature, gained Ferrari Classiche certification, and returned to Maranello for Ferrari’s 70th, placing second in its class. It belonged to a reigning World Champion, newly signed to lead Ferrari into a new era. This was Alain Prost’s F40.
