Mike Ditka’s passing just before Bears-Packers on Sunday brings back memories of the week Walter Payton died in 1999. Chicago’s next game was at Lambeau. Bears DL Bryan Robinson blocked a chip-shot field goal that would’ve won the game. "I think Walter Payton picked me up, because I can't jump that high,” Robinson said after the game.

Josh Jacobs said he underwent another MRI on Monday just to make sure he didn’t make his existing knee injury worse, and it came back clean. He just continues to deal with swelling, and it kicked in again vs. the Bears. He’s not making any declarations for Sunday yet.

Recently fired Jets coach Robert Saleh is at Packers practice. Long history between him and Matt LaFleur. Also has worked with Jeff Hafley. We’ll hear from LaFleur after practice if he’s hired Saleh in some capacity. That’s him on the far sideline watching the offense.

Last practice of the week. Has Kevin Zeitler (70) gotten enough reps to play Sunday after practicing for the first time since last season? LaFleur: “He’s feeling a little bit more comfortable each and every day. What is this, year 15 for him? He’s got a lot of practice reps under his belt.” Same DNPs as yesterday: Banks, Monk, Brinson, Campbell.
