Here is my unsolicited opinion on Caitlin Clark and the whole “de-escalation committee.” Caitlin Clark behaves and exists like a white teenage boy, including using the privileges that come with being one. It may be all giggles among the teammates for now, but getting your mostly black teammates to babysit you and finding it funny, especially when they start getting techs themselves as a result of your actions, has a really bad ring to it. She is surely cool about being de-escalated, but had things to say about being fouled. She sees players being destroyed in her name and doesn’t do anything about it. That’s what makes it impossible to appreciate Caitlin Clark beyond her basketball. Especially when you have players who are much more poised than her being called the most horrible things.

![Nneka Ogwumike tells Courtney Williams that "she really does want you for sure [in the CBA meeting]". What I take from it is that her presence is highly valued in the negotiation/decision making table. The interaction reminded me of when Williams was 100% real in the players meeting during the wubble (2020) which was going to decide if they were going to stop playing after Jacob Blake's shooting. Her stance in that meeting was importante to give other players the perspective of how certain ways of protest are a privilege that not everyone can afford. Williams has always been 100% herself, and she won't be anything but that. I know we're seeing the fun and party version of her authenticity during the All-Star weekend, but it goes way beyond entertainment. Ogwumike and the person that really wanted Williams in today's meeting understand the importance of different POVs to be actually fair, and how equality is different from equity.
