Yesterday, the world lost Alex Zanardi. 59 years old. Gone too soon. In 2001, a 320km/h CART crash took both his legs. Most people would've retired to a wheelchair and called it a life well-lived. Alex built his own hand controls. Redesigned his prosthetics. Got back in the car. Won races. Then (almost casually) he picked up handcycling. 4 Paralympic golds. 12 world titles. NYC Marathon champion. Ironman finisher. He wasn't defying his disability. He was just being Alex. Two career-ending crashes. One life. No excuses. Never a single moment of self-pity. He used to say: "If you want to do something, you can do it." Simple. Obvious. And yet most of us forget it every single day. What do you do with a second chance at life? Alex answered that better than anyone in history. Superheroes do exist. RIP, legend 🇮🇹
