I had a conversation with a boy I used to know. I had a conversation with I child I used to know I had a conversation with the soul that believed just because you sounded sincere. I missed him, i miss me. It’s painful when you realise that you can’t hug someone who loved you before you knew what love means. Someone who believes in you so confidently that he was certain you’d not fail him. Ooh yes it’s painful you can’t hug me, but i think that’s for the best… because tell me how would i survive it, when or if that innocent beautiful child runs to me with open arms for a hug, how would I survive it, m knowing he would probably still forgive, with all the broken promises, and dreams that are still dreams. How would I survive it when even despite all this he’d still believe in me. With tears in my eyes I scream to the universe….. oooh how would I survive it. So I’m grateful for the fact I can’t hug the boy i used to be. But hopefully I’d be able to one day someday and when I do, I’d say thank you, thank you, thank you. For your dreams thank you, for your faith thank you, I finally did it, we finally did it. We became everything that defines greatness, we became everything that defines gratitude.
