In the end-of-season availability interviews, Udoka was asked about Cam Whitmore’s role and said he’s been “very clear” with “what’s gonna get you on the court and help you sustain a role” and said they’re looking for “consistency” with him. Consistency happens both on AND off the court. I don’t wanna see Cam Whitmore go because he can contribute to this team, but if he’s having trouble accepting his role then that’s his issue.

The Rockets will win 48 games for these three reasons: 1. A top-10 defense returns everyone, gets Tari Eason back after missing 60 games last season, and adds size/depth with Steven Adams 2. Everyone gets a year older and more mentally and physically mature. Also, another year of continuity in Ime Udoka’s system should allow for new wrinkles and more flexibility 3. Sengun and Jalen Green break out and lead the way alongside an excellent cast of veteran role players (Fred VanVleet, Steven Adams, Dillon Brooks)
