She bolted up by 8 lengths at Hamilton over 1mile1f before a below-par effort at Goodwood but that is easy to forgive it was in a much stronger race and on soft ground that didn’t suit. Back on a good surface at a track she clearly likes, and with the benefit of a recent run under her belt, she makes plenty of appeal. James Fanshawe has an excellent record with fillies that are improving and stepping through the grades with Sky Safari and Pina Sonata being notable examples, Currently rated 89, she’s bred to keep progressing with racing and age out of Ghaiyyath I can see her developing into a Group-class performer and being rated 100+ before long. I think the step up around 2f will suite based on her breeding and how well she coped with the strongly run contest at the track Crystal Flyer set very fast fractions from the front and faded tamely but Plaid brezzed past the field to win pratically on the bridle. While Superior Choice arrives in excellent order looking to complete a hat-trick at 1/1 he is a little too short favourite for the Gosden team costing a huge 1.1million gns. At 5/1 11/2 in places Plaid is priced purely on her official rating rather than her potential and course form, i think she will shorten dramatically by race time. Winning at Hamilton 2 starts ago ⬇️🎥
