In Asifabad, historically part of undivided Adilabad district, as Chief Minister Revanth Reddy launched Phase-II of Indiramma Housing, one of India’s most ambitious housing missions, he displayed a rare quality in today’s politics: MORAL SECURITY . Under Indiramma Housing, Telangana has now sanctioned 7 lakh homes across two phases: 4.5 lakh in Phase-I and 2.5 lakh more in Phase-II. In just 13 months, 1.20 lakh houses have already been completed, with tribal families having moved in through mass housewarming ceremonies. Another 1 lakh housewarmings are targeted by September 17, 2026. What should leadership look like today? Confrontation for the sake of a media story? Disruption for political gain? A constant tug of war where power is abused while ordinary people continue to suffer? India has seen enough of that politics. Now name one BJP Chief Minister, one BJP MP, or one BJP leader anywhere in the country who has stood on a public stage and told leaders of opposing parties: when it comes to serving our people, we are one. Revanth Anna did exactly that. He encouraged MLAs of other parties to go deeper into their own constituencies, into every tribal hamlet and every village, and identify every poor family still living in huts. He said elections will come, political battles will happen, and people will decide who wins and who loses. But until then, Telangana’s welfare, development and service to the citizens cannot be held hostage to party lines. He wants to see a hut-free Adilabad. He wants opposition MLAs to help identify the families, the hamlets, the villages and the land where new homes can be built. And he takes upon himself the responsibility of ensuring that those families get a roof over their heads. A leader secure and grounded enough to place the vulnerable above politics. A leader clear enough to practice the responsibility that comes with power. Revanth Reddy has given a definition to the word dharma in public life: Stand with your people. Build for your people. And when the cause is bigger than politics, bring everyone together for your people.
